Andy Allman, State Representative, Candidate - 45th District

To be a State Representative requires the utmost in civil service to all citizens of the 45th District:  not only those who share political affiliation, ideology, philosophy, or faith.

Once elected to office, one must endeavor to meet the needs of all citizens, including those who may have voted for another. Sumner County faces issues and decisions that may help chart our future for decades to come; from investing in our children’s education via School’s First Program, Pre-K Education, and Hope Scholarships, to ensuring access to quality healthcare, we must work together to set the standard in Tennessee.  This doesn’t mean proposing — or opposing — legislation for strategic partisan motives, rather, looking toward the horizon and planning accordingly.

We need a representative with the long-range vision to not only set fiscally responsible economic policies but also prepare our communities for sustainable economic growth. Such representation must be coupled with the ability to work collectively with others, regardless of political affiliation. Over the past several years we have witnessed how partisan politics can impede policies that would improve not only today’s quality of life, but also that of our children. Whether the topic be the war in Iraq, rising deficits, job losses, mortgage crisis, health care, education, or insufficient number of schools in our county, we need representation that cultivates and yields solutions.

I am running for State Representative of the 45th District because of my commitment to serve the people of Sumner County.  Service requires an ability to assemble a diverse gathering to proactively address the issues facing each of us.  I can provide the leadership necessary to accomplish that task.
